E.L.F. Studio Pressed Powder vs Mac StudioFix Pressed Powder

UPDATE 5/1/11:  THIS DIDNT OXIDIZE!!! Sorry for the bold, but i wanted to make sure everyone was clear. My face was acting weird when i first tried it (used a different sunscreen). i LOVE this powder! It is a perfect match for my nc25 skin and it doesnt even come off. What i also love about this is that 1) it matches! 2) doesnt oxidize, however after about 4-5 hours, i have to retouch cuz i got a little shiny...no biggie 3) it doesnt settle into fine lines or wrinkles like the overly priced mac studiofix powder foundation!!!! 4) It has medium coverage but you can make it full if you want, but after you apply it, regardless if your application is sheer to full, it looks like you have No makeup on! Your skin shines through, not the powder hahah.I love this! Im going to stock up!

UPDATE 4/25/11: I love this powder however...i think it oxidizes on my skin. Inside i look at it and it looks wonderful...when i go outside my face looks darker and has a pinkish tone to it...like i am sunburned.  Any thoughts?

Product: E.L.F. Studio Pressed Powder

Shade: Porcelain

Price: $3.00

Coverage: Medium to Full

My Thoughts:  Finally! Something that is yellow enough for my skin! This powder is perfect! It covers very well and matches!

I tested it two ways:
  1. I tried to see how much coverage it had without wearing any concealer on my post acne marks (they are brown/purple...not big though, about the size of a corn kernel.
  2. I put on my regular concealer (Covergirl Simply Ageless Yellow Corrector) first then applied the powder over it.
Results:
  1. It covered VERY well. I was surprised. maybe even better than my StudioFix. When i use my MAC, i can still see some of my marks through it, when i dont use concealer and if i dont use enough concealer, they still show through. E.L.F. props to you! It looked a little cakey, but after a about 15 minutes, its fine.
  2. I dont know if it was my concealer, but over the powder, i could see the cakey area where i put the powder on top of my concealer. It looked a little different than the rest of my face without concealer. But, since it covers so well without it, why even put on concealer?
See how close the shade compares to MAC NC25:

  1. Wow, another MATCH! Thank you so much for the reviews. I will definitely need to pick this up and try it since the color is a perfect match for NC30. I have one question.....the Covergirl Simply Ageless Yellow Corrector, what is the NC shade equivalent to that? For concealers I use NC 30/35 and was wondering if this this corrector is dark enough for me. Thanks for all your help

  2. Aweeee, I'm sad to hear that it kind of oxidizes. My elf shipment hasn't come in yet. I ordered this after reading your reviews. After I try it out, I'll let you know how it works for me.

  4. Thanks for post! I had been searching all over the net to find a dupe for the MAC powder. I recently started working at Macy's and wanted to treat myself and sister to some MAC since they were having an associate discount event. She is a makeup fanatic and when she tried some of the Mac products she wasn't impressed and didn't like the settling into wrinkles that occurred. I am lazy but luckily have nice skin and wanted something easy and quick to apply like a foundation/cream to powder to help with a bit of redness and uneveness. I have always had luck with cheaper brands of foundation and powders (when I could find a match!)I will be running out and trying this ELF product ASAP. Thanks again! :)
