E.L.F. Studio Stipple Brush vs MAC 187

Feedback has been low, which is why I stopped doing reviews for a while, because I don't know what you guys want me to review! haha.

Anyway...

My Thoughts: It looks good on the website, but it doesn't really perform well. I used my liquid foundation and tried to apply it using the ELF Stipple brush. It didn't really do the job at all. Not even close. The hairs are longer than the MAC 187. It is also smaller in diameter than the MAC 187; the MAC 187 brush head is bigger than the ELF. The density of the bristles on the ELF are much less dense than those of the MAC 187. Also, the bristles are too soft; they are not rigid or hard enough to actually do a "stipple" application. Therefore, I would NOT recommend this brush for foundation application. I don't know how it will perform for a blush application.

Compared to MAC 187: Its not even close. Simply put, this brush is NOT a dupe for the MAC 187 ($42.00).

Instead, I would either use the E.L.F. Studio Powder Brush (read review here). The brush is very dense and rigid enough to do the job of a stippling brush and the job of a flat top kabuki brush, that provides full coverage. I love that brush!
