Everyday Minerals Foundation Swatches

Hello Everyone,

I got my Everyday Minerals order in and i am so happy to let you all know that....

I HAVE FOUND A PERRRRFECT...SKIN PERFECT MATCH IN EVERYDAY MINERALS.

I love Everyday Minerals! It is soo much better than BareMinerals.

You dont need to be a makeup artist to get the flawless look, which was deemed "easy by the other brand (yea right!).

You do not need to buy only THEIR brand of products for it to work right.

It will not make you broke!

Perfect Shade:
The perfect match for NC25 skintone is Light Olive.

Detailed Description:
Warm Undertones are for those with a yellow or peachy complexion. Your skin tans well and usually does not burn. If you look at the underside of your arm, your veins may have a slight greenish tint if you can even see them at all (from EDM Website).

  • Light: Light is very light. Its about NC15 maybe NC20. On the website it says light is, "For light to medium complexions with golden undertones." Definitely not medium skintones. Its for Fair to light with golden undertones.
  • Winged Butter: I couldn't really tell which shade was best for me between Winged Butter and Light Olive. I had my sister look and after a lot of scrutinizing, light olive was better. She said this one slightly dark...and I mean slight. On Website it is described as "For light to medium complexions with yellow undertones," which is correct.

Olive Undertones are for those with golden olive complexions. Your skin tans easily. If you look at the underside of your arm, your veins appear greenish in color and your complexion is more golden olive. You have probably found that many foundation colors end up looking ashy or pink on your skin (THANK GOD SOMEONE KNOWS WHAT I HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH! AKA I'M OLIVE!!)
  • Light Olive: Light is perfect! Its like my own skin color in a jar! I am ecstatic! Online it states, "For light complexions with yellow and olive undertones." I honestly did not know, nor was I told that I am olive skintoned...just light skinned olive. I thought Olive skintoned people were like Mediterranean, Greek, medium to dark skintones, with a hint of a green hue. NOPE! No wonder I couldnt find anything that would match me, because there is no foundation for olive skin tones, especially light skinned olive, as far as i know, other than Everyday Minerals (if you do know some drug store or department, please comment!).
Formulations:
Some shades only come in certain formulations. I knew I was either Winged Butter or Light Olive. Winged butter comes in two different formulations (Semi Matte and Matte), whereas Light Olive (my shade), comes in only one formulation (Semi Matte).

Semi Matte: Semi-Matte Base creates a hydrating soft dewy complexion with medium to full coverage and feels creamy to the touch.Suitable for all skin types. Formulated without lake dyes and preservatives (From EDM).

Matte: Matte Base is beautifully matte with full coverage for combination skin. Achieve a perfect canvas with silk-like minerals. Evens out skin tones, light and flawless finish.

Both state it gives full coverage, its just if you want a slightly dewy (luminescent) finish.

I compared Winged Butter and noticed that Matte gives better coverage than Semi Matte. Dont get me wrong, both have wonderful coverage, but Matte is slightly more.

Overall Foundation: Its wonderful. I just put on my moisturizer, my primer, used my MAC StudioFinish Concealer in NW20 and applied my foundation with Eco Tools Bamboo Bronzer Brush. It lasted all day, didnt settle into fine lines. Wonderful!

I have heard that EDM'sFlat Top Kabuki Brush gives better coverage which can be achived faster, since the bristes are so dense. I tried using my E.L.F. Studio Powder Brush (with bareMinerals), since I thought it looked the same, but it sucked up all the minerals and didnt get any coverage at all.

Here are the swatches. I am sorry if some shades are hard to see. I have outlined them in Red.

Hope that helps.

  2. Hey I love your NC25 reviews! The new BareMinerals BAREskin foundation is our HG in terms of color. It matches perfectly, doesn't oxidize, and has build able coverage. Here's my full review:

Shade: Bare Ivory (04). My skin color/tone: light olive/warm undertone (NC25); skin type: combo-oily.
    PROS:
-flawless complexion achievable with this product
-perfect match in natural and artificial lighting (almost too perfect)
    -no pink undertones at all
    -covers blemishes very well
-DOES NOT OXIDIZE EVEN ON OILY SKIN :D
    -blends easily onto the skin
-can be layered to personal taste without looking muddy and dull
-looks like natural skin, and feels like natural skin
-lasting power is pretty good considering that it is a serum
-dry skin will love the dewy finish
    -gives skin a radiant glow
-brightening properties make skin look healthy and alive

    CONS:
-white cast/ moon face in flash photos
    -runny application
-more likely to come off of the skin throughout the day if it is not set with powder and not layered over primer
    -$$
-people with oily skin may not like the texture or the dewiness
    -has an odd smell
-product is wasted because of the packaging (bubbles up to the surface and spills over the little nozzle randomly)
-oily skin will need to touch up with powder/ blotters throughout the day

*best used with the reservoir brush or a flat top buffing brush. Stippling brushes cause it too look streaky.
*goes on watery, feels velvety when dried and has dewy finish.
*definitely worth the money and the frequent touch ups lol :) four and a half out of five stars!
