Blush best for NC25 Skin
I have a question for you all.
What color best suits us NC25 girls?
I have never used blush ever. When i went to MAC to do a makeover for a wedding, the makeup artist put blush on me and it made me look darker. Im sorry, but i dont like to be tanned or look tanned...i want to be as fair as i can be (cultural and personal preference).
I am pretty pale (being a yellow, nc25-er), as you can tell yourself, but i want to add some color to my face. I tried NARS Orgasam, and i wasnt feeling the coral thing and it was kinda bright. I was thinking like a muave tone...but someone told me i would look dark, because that is for medium/dark skin tones.
HELP!

- What color would look best on yellow, nc25 skin, that isnt too over the top...just subtle color?
- What blush and color do YOU use?
LOL, I was gonna suggest Nars Orgasm (which I really love), but you didn't care for. If you like a pinkish glow, I would suggest Sheer Cover Lip to Lid Highlighter in Pink. I love the way it looks on me and I wear it on days when I want to add a pop of color.
ReplyDeletei use nars orgasm only when i want my blus to be more intense for a night out. i think you would really like nars deep throat or sex appeal, deep throat has some shimmer to it, but not overpowering. benefits perfect 10 is amazing too, it a bronzer/highlight combo but the bronzer is really light and looks really good on my nc25 skin. just adds definition, not tanness.
ReplyDeleteI have your skin tone and I like to use Sonia Kashuk products for blushes. You can buy them at Target so they aren't too expensive! I use her Super Sheer Liquid Tint in 03 Poppy and her Beautifying Blush in 09 Melon. They are nice, brightening, and not too extreme (trust me, if they were, my dad would have a fit! :)
ReplyDeleteI loveee MAC Cubic blush. I'm a yellow-toned NC25 myself and it gives me such a natural flush. It's a mauvey-pink that's really hard to overdo. I actually tried to pack it on my cheeks on purpose to see if I could get it to look "clownish" but it was pretty hard lol. I also have NARS Orgasm which you mentioned. It looks great, but only with a really light hand.

I own my fair share of blushes, but I don't think I've found a mauve that compliments my NC25 olive skin. My #1 most-used is Laura Mercier Crushed Hazelnut (light peachy beige with slight shimmer); this one is very subtle and makes me look alive. It can be used as either the main blush (for a natural look; I use it this way when all I'm wearing with it is foundation and mascara) or as a highlighter. If I'm doing color on the eyes, my next most-used is MAC Harmony (muted rose-beige brown, as described by MAC); it goes well with a wide variety of eye looks. Unfortunately Crushed Hazelnut has been discontinued, but I've been able to find them easily enough through ebay (and for less than they would've cost through LM). Good luck on your search for the perfect blush! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a NC25 myself and MAC Well Dressed is a perfect match :-)
ReplyDeleteHello and thank you for your blog. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you´ve tried the loreal "lumi magic foundation" (name in europe..). I´ve bought w3, and it was so yellow/golden for me.I felt disapointed.. luckily, I was able to return it and I bought N3.. I´ll tell you something after I´ve tried.
best wishes,
Sara
Thank you all for the comments!
ReplyDeleteThe Loreal Lumi Magique Foundation is only available in Europe. It looks really cool though. I've noticed that brands in Europe tend to have a yellow undertone, whereas in USA they are pink.
Thank you for your answer.I had never thought about it, but based On my experience, I would say you are right, most foundations tend to be on the yellow spectrum here in Europe. I´ve already tried n3- lumi magique (that should be neutral) and it´s kind of yellow..yellow enough for me.. I love the consistence and the glow of this foundation, but n3 seems to be a little bit darker than nc25. I think it might be a good choice for the summer..unfortunatelly, I´ve been unable to find number 2, as people in southern Europe don´t usually have fair or light skin.
ReplyDeleteso I hope you will keep on with the blog, because it´s very helpfuull. good luck. Sara
I use AA0 tenderling sheertone blush, which is from mac. Its color is like rosewood but maybe a bit more brown, i don't really know exactly. I want to be as fair as i can be too and that's the best blush i have found so far. It doesn't make me tanned or something like that soo... yeah i like it. You should try it! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI like the NYX Powder Blush in Nutmeg. Not Coral-y at all. And I'm between NC20 and NC30 (depending on the season).
ReplyDeleteI use MAC posey cream blush and also try Bobbi Brown powder pink pot rouge.
ReplyDeleteI use moka pink20 blush from clinique it looks very natural ..I love it and have been using it for years!
ReplyDeleteI'm super uncomfortable using a blush called Orgasm. Plus NARS is expensive. Any drugstore equivalents with less sexually explicit names?
ReplyDeleteI have dark circles and NC25 skin and I think peachy blushes look awful on me. It sounds counter-intuitive, but a sheer light clear or mauve pink with no shimmer is what works best for me. This allows the color of the skin to show through and makes it all work.
