Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System
Okay,
So I bought the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System, which is supposed to be a dupe/alternative to the $200 Clarisonic Skin Care System.
I haven't tried the Clarisonic yet (side note: they are the same company behind the Sonicare Toothbrush). "The Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System uses a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth skin. In just 60 seconds, the micro-massage action removes 6X more makeup and 2X more dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone,"as described on their website. Comparing that to the Olay, it is nowhere near the same in terms of speed. The movement is very different. Olay is rotating whereas Clarisonic is oscillating. It moves so fast that you cant even see it. I think THAT is the key into getting radiant, clear, pore-less, wrinkle free, scar and acne free skin, which is what people are reporting with the Clarisonic.
Now Olay is a GREAT brand, that I trust and use all the time. I am 27 years old and people still mistake me for a high school student (mA). I honestly do not think that the Olay is similar in terms of a dupe for the Clarisonic. Why? Because a dupe or an alternative implies that everything is the same or very similar, except the price. Here, the Olay has a different mechanism than the Clarisonic, as already mentioned. The speed is no where near the Clarisonic. After I used it, i wiped my face with a white towel, on purpose, to see if anything was left behind. Yes! There was stuff left behind and I used it twice!
I am going to return this and try and find the real alternative to Clarisonic....Pretika SonicDermabrasion Facial Brush, which retails for $25 - $40, depending on where you buy it.
Hope that helps!
